Usually acne spot treatment creams are packaged in tubes and have a capacity of 10ml. Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream is contained in a jar and has a capacity of up to 30ml.
Although COSRX instructs to apply directly to acne, with the above packaging and capacity, we can use it to apply a thin layer all over the face like when using moisturizer. This method is intended to soothe irritation and redness.
That effect is created by the main ingredient of the product being extracted from Centella Asiatica. This extract contains a lot of amino acids, beta-carotene, fatty acids, and phytochemicals. They enhance the antioxidant capacity of wounds and increase blood circulation. It is beneficial for controlling eczema, psoriasis, varicose veins, and tightening the surface.
1. How to use Cosrx Centella Blemish
1) After washing your face, use toner and serum, and thinly apply the cream to areas with dark spots or acne-prone areas.
2) Use morning and night. Do not apply it to open acne.
The manufacturer prescribes applying the cream to acne spots. But you can still apply a thin layer all over your face, as it also has the ability to soothe irritated skin. The product can be used for oily skin.
2. Cosrx Centella Blemish Texture
The texture is very soft, like a moisturizer, leaving no greasy feeling. Oily skin will not feel heavy if they use this cream, which is like a moisturizer. However, it left a little white mark, so remember to rub the cream thoroughly.
If this cream is cheaper, I will apply it to all my faces instead of doing on-site treatment as recommended, but unfortunately, the price is quite high.
3. Main components
Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Zinc Oxide, Dimethicone, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Viola Tricolor Extract, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) oil, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Kernel Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Zinc PCA, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xanthan Gum , Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract.
Centella Asiatica extract accounts for 51%. This ingredient is used instead of purified water in this cream. Centella Asiatica has the function of accelerating the recovery process of damaged skin and fading scars.
Centella Asiatica is antibacterial and has wound-healing properties, making it perfect for those suffering from acne and/or acne scars.
4. Scent
In my personal experience, there is a sort of’vegetal’ or ‘herbal’ scent, but it’s very faint; overall, nothing special about this. The smell is a bit faint and disappears quickly.
5. Humidity
6. Experience
I applied the cream to the acne at night and the next morning the condition was quite positive, the acne had collapsed a bit and there were no signs of redness or enlargement. It takes about 1 day for the acne to subside completely. This product makes the process of controlling acne much easier.
I tried using it on my forehead in my skin care routine both morning and night. After more than 1 month of application, the skin is smoother. The previously acne-prone skin feels noticeably softer and brighter in color.
Evaluation of the ability to fade scars: Maybe the usage time is not long enough to see this effect, so I don’t see any obvious difference on old scars. For acne spots that are applied early, the effect is quite good, the acne heals quickly and does not leave dark spots or scars.
The price for 30ml of this product is quite high, which is why COSRX recommends use as a spot treatment. In return, the effect it brings is almost as good as the company announced. The product works well for acne, acne caused by hormonal changes, or skin care after acne has accumulated.
